Brooklyn's Portraits

OK, so I mentioned we had Brooklyn's pictures taken the week before she turned 4 months... well, here are some of the proofs. They turned out SOOOOOO cute!

This one is my favorite! Look at that crooked smile.

And I just love this one too!

Our sweet baby girl.

Her tongue cracks me up in this one. She's trying to "talk".

She was giving serious eyes the whole time.

Cute little feet.

She always holds her hands like this... like she's praying. I love that they captured that.

She was laughing in this one... right after she spit up all over her shirt :)

Look at those baby blues!

OK, she wasn't really looking at a fairy... she was looking at mommy, but that sure was a cute enhancement.

Too sweet.

All in all, they turned out pretty dang cute! It was hard to pick which ones to have printed.

Some Fun Stuff This Week

We've had a pretty busy, but fun week! Last weekend we went to the Ostrich Festival in Chandler. I hadn't been in a while and Kurt had never gone so we checked it out. It was a beautiful day for it too. Here's one of the ostriches looking at us...

Here's part of the crowd (and this was only by the food court area). It was SO busy.

We sat in the grass and watched some live music while we had a snack and Brooklyn had a bottle. Our stroller made a nice shady spot for the baby.

Brooklyn got her diaper changed in the grass and thought that was so funny. She was making all sorts of cute faces at her daddy!

Daddy's girl...

There was a cool fire truck painted like the American flag.

Brooklyn was having such a good time checking everything out.

We saw some cool tricks.

And of course the ostrich races. This is kind of hard to see, but the jockey's are on the ostriches backs and racing them around the track. It was funny!

Then Tuesday was St. Patrick's Day (and Brooklyn turned 4 months old). I had a green theme throughout the day. We had green bagels for breakfast. Sandwiches with green lettuce and cucumbers for lunch. Pasta salad with green celery and peas for dinner. And of course a St. Patty's day cake. Yummy!

Brooklyn had green on her clothes, a green binky, and green toys that she played with. Oh, and she ROLLED OVER for the first time too. She was playing on her mat and I rolled her over for some tummy time. Before I knew it, she had rolled back over all by herself and was staring up at me. Her eyes were all big like she didn't know what happened. I made a big deal out of it and was clapping so she started smiling. She hasn't done it since, but hey, SHE DID IT!!!!!

I just had to throw these in. Brooklyn loves to snuggle up with anything soft when she takes a nap. She rubs it over her face and eyes and just falls fast asleep.

More snugglies in her face makes for great nap time.

Wednesday we spent the whole afternoon at the AZ Science Center. I didn't really take many pictures, but we had a good time. They had a bed of nails there. If you touch them when the nails are up, they are poky and sort of sharp. But when you lay down and spread your weight across a bunch of them, they don't hurt at all. I tried it out and the nails lifted me. It felt really weird, but it didn't hurt.

It's been such a fun week!

A Deal You Can't Pass Up

Albertson's had their Huggies on sale for $6.99 for a jumbo pack, which was great deal. I had coupons for $1.50 off which would have made them $5.50. But then I saw a friend's blog who showed boodle.com had coupons for $3 and $5 off, which of course was an even better deal. That made them $2 and $4 a pack.

I bought 16 packages of diapers today for $56 (including the tax). Seriously, that's like buying 5 and getting 11 for FREE! Who can pass up a deal like that!

Brooklyn is set for quite a while now! And mommy saved a ton. Woo Hoo!!!!
I went to a few Albertson's and they were sold out, so I went to Walmart instead. They price match and accepted all my coupons. This made my whole week!!!!!!!

Picture Day

I took Brooklyn to get her 3 month pictures on Tuesday (since I hadn't done it yet and she'll be 4 months next week). They turned out so cute. We won't get those back until next week, but after we left the portrait studio, we stopped at my mom's and took some of our own.

This was Brooklyn's picture outfit. We set her on my mom's bench...

She looked so dang cute in that hat!

No smiles here, she looks all alone.

So we thought we'd have my nephew sit with her. He wasn't too sure about that idea. He didn't want anything to do with her.

Then she touched him...

He did NOT like that. He kept grabbing his arm and looking at my mom like he was tattling on her. "She touched me".

Then he decided to push her away...

Which of course made her cry. He kept pulling his arm away because he didn't want her to touch him. Me and my mom were cracking up.

We removed Brooklyn from the bench since by now she was all tears and didn't want anymore pictures with her pushy cousin... When we told Tanner to be nice to the baby, we got this scowl...

It was too funny. Next week my sister in law and I are taking the cousins for a group picture. It should be interesting to see how that unfolds since Tanner wants nothing to do with Brooklyn.

When we got home I showed the pictures to Kurt. He said they were acting more like brother/sister than cousins. Tanner is too funny. He is so jealous of Brooklyn anytime someone gives her attention. So cute!

While Daddy's Away, His Girls Will Play

Kurt was in St. Louis this past weekend for a Leadership Conference. Brooklyn and I stayed home since I thought she was too little to tag along and I wasn't ready to leave her for the weekend just yet. We decided since Daddy was out having fun, we needed to have some fun as well.

We got dressed up cute and ran some errands first.

Then we put on our party clothes (and new shoes) and went for a night on the town. Brooklyn looked so dang cute in those denim shoes my mom bought for her.

She thought it was neat wearing summer clothes and kept lifting up her shirt to show off her belly. Don't tell Daddy! :) She's such the flirt!

We had a fun slumber party too with my friends Rachel and Melissa (whose husbands were at the conference with Kurt). Brooklyn had her first slumber party with a boy too. Don't worry, Brayden had his own room. Don't they look cute together?

Here we are watching cartoons at home Sunday morning. Boy was she tuned in!

Then Sunday afternoon we spent the day with Kurt's mom and sister. Kurt's mom heated the jacuzzi for us to play in. I stuck my hand in the pool (which was NOT heated) and said it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be for this time of year. Kurt's mom said I should go in and I took it as a dare.... so crazy me, I dove in and swam a few laps. It was like sixty something degrees. So cold!

But it was fun! It was actually a little invigorating. Then I thought I should probably get out and warm up so I don't get sick.

While we hung out by the pool, Brooklyn took a 2 hour nap under the patio.

Then Daddy came home and had Monday off work to hang out with his girls. We decided to get out of the house for some fun. So Brooklyn of course put on her cute shoes (OK, she had some help from Mommy) and a hat to block the sun.

And we packed Bailee up and went to the dog park. My parents met up with us and brought their dogs too. It's not so crowded when you go during the week. The dogs had such a good time and we enjoyed being out in the beautiful weather.

Here is Bailee after swimming in the pond. Obviously she was having a good time... look at that tongue hanging out!

Brooklyn was hanging out in the shade. Mommy didn't think it would be a good idea to introduce her fair skin to a sunburn just yet :)

Although we had such a good time with just the girls for the weekend, we sure were happy to have Daddy come home!
