What a Difference!

When you're used to changing size 4 diapers on a boy who just sits there and lets you do it... It makes a HUGE difference when trying to put a newborn size on a teeny tiny hiney of a little girl who doesn't want you to do it :)

Welcome Madison Jane Bucy 4/11/12

I finally have a spare moment to update about Madison's birth.

39 week belly!  This pregnancy actually seemed to go by a lot faster than my other two, but I didn't feel as prepared since we didn't know if it was a girl or a boy.  We finally decided upon a boy name and a girl name the night before the birth!  Whew, talk about last minute!

In triage getting ready for my c section.  My mom brought Brooklyn to the hospital so she could be a part of our special day too!

Here we go!  I had so many emotions going through my head in the operating room.  I was so happy to be meeting our new addition. I was so anxious to find out if it was a girl or a boy.  I couldn't wait to meet our new little bundle.  At least I wasn't nervous about surgery this time since it was the 3rd go round :)

It's a GIRL.  Madison Jane, born 4/11/12, 8:19am, 8 lbs, 12oz, 19.5 inches.  This was our smallest baby!

Meeting Mommy for the first time!

Look at all that hair!  We had such a good experience this time around.  Madison was brought directly into the recovery room with me instead of going to the nursery like they did with the other two.  This gave me a chance to start bonding right away, snuggle her and breastfeed before she met anyone else.  It was such a special time for us.  It drove the Grandma's a little crazy because they were still out in the waiting room and didn't know any details yet.

Getting all cleaned up before we moved to our room.

Mommy and Madison.  She is perfect.  It is amazing how your heart opens up just a little bigger and has so much love to give this new member of our family.  I am so blessed!

Brooklyn holding her for the first time.  She absolutely LOVES her baby sister.

The nice part about recovering from a c section... Daddy gets to change all the diapers in the hospital because Mommy can't get out of bed yet  :)

Trenton meeting Madison for the first time.  He was making me laugh.  He kept saying "cute, cute" and trying to kiss her through the plastic in the crib.

The whole time I was pregnant, Brooklyn said she had a "Brooklyn Baby" in her tummy just like Mommy had a baby in her tummy.  So when I had my baby, Brooklyn's baby joined our family too.  She named her Allison.  She got to meet her new baby for the first time at the hospital with us!

I had made Big Brother/Big Sister shirts for the kids to wear to the hospital the first day.  Only I forgot to take pictures of them until they were about to leave and it was past nap time... They didn't want to cooperate.  Oh well.  I'll have to try again later.

Bright eyes

Going home outfit... So pretty!

I was so happy to be checking out of the hospital.  I get more rest at home!

Proud Daddy and Mommy leaving with their new bundle of joy!

First car ride.  Slept the whole way home...

Brooklyn cannot get enough of Madison.  She always wants to hold her, pet her, hug her, kiss her, etc.  And Trenton is the same way.  They love her!

Brooklyn tries to do everything with her baby that I do with mine.  She stole my nursing pillow and figured she'd try that out!  Heehee

Big brother and sister trying to help Madison out in the swing.  Trenton likes to push her fast.  I have to keep an eye out for that boy!

First sponge bath at home...  Needless to say, she didn't like it one bit!

Didn't really care for the bouncer chair the first time we put her in there either.   She's got some good lungs for such a little thing!

Snuggled in the swing.  She's so cute!

I am so happy to be a Family of Five now.  We will be busy with 3 kids 3 and under!  Madison is only a week and a half old, and I can't imagine our family without her.  She completes us!  I had forgotten how much time a newborn requires, but she is a good baby and we are managing nicely.  She pretty much just eats/sleeps/poops right now.  I have to cherish these moments with her being so small as I know she will grow up too fast just like Brooklyn and Trenton.

We are so very blessed!

Easter 2012

Coloring Easter Eggs... We painted speckled eggs this year instead of dying them. I thought the kids would have fun with that. Brooklyn was concentrating hard. She only lasted about 5 or 10 minutes though... until she needed to go wash her hands because they were dirty! :)

Trenton had to lend a helping hand too. He just wanted to break the eggs though.

Mommy made an egg for Baby Bucy... It's pink and blue since we don't know whether the baby is a boy or girl yet :)

Our finished product!

We went to Easter Service at church on Saturday night since we had a busy day planned on Sunday. Grandma and Grandpa Bucy came with us. The kids were all dressed up, but I guess I didn't pull my camera out that night for a family picture. Dang it.

Easter morning... The Easter Bunny was very practical this year and brought summer fun buckets for the kids :) New swim suits, summer jammies, shovels/buckets, etc. (Oh, and Reese's Eggs for Mommy... Way to go Easter Bunny)!

The kids checking out their new things.

We had breakfast with Kurt's mom, sister and her husband. His mom hid 200 eggs for us to find. And yes, I said us... There were a couple dozen for the kids, but the rest were for us "big kids". It was so much fun. There were some tricky hiding spots too. I was wondering if she was trying to make this pregnant lady go into labor with all the bending and running around! heehee

Trenton sure was getting the hang of this egg hunt thing!

He was having so much fun!

Look at what I found Mommy!

Me too, me too!

Kurt's mom got the kids Easter baskets, but I didn't get the camera out before they ripped into them. These were just adorable... Bears with personalized bunny outfits on. They were a hit. Brooklyn called hers "jacket bunny" and Trenton calls his "cute".

We spent the afternoon at my Grandma's house with my side of the family. Yummy food, and of course, another egg hunt. Trenton was loving it.... Especially since he has now figured out that plastic eggs contain candy or money!

Look at all those eggs! She did this all on her own too. Good thing the adults helped her eat the candy out of her eggs before we left because I do NOT want that much lying around here. I don't like to give the kids a ton of candy and I don't want to be the one to eat it all!!!

The kids checking out their stash!

Family picture... as good as it's going to get anyway! Kids didn't want to cooperate. Oh well. That's life!

I just love this goofy, happy boy! This is his surprise face!

He's such a ham.

And OK, I know Grandpa likes to spoil the kids... but I think they're a bit young to be driving! Who gave that girl the keys? She said she needed to go to the grocery store. At least she remembered that they both need to wear their seat belts :)

We had a fun-filled, busy day celebrating with our families. Now just a couple days left before we get even busier when this new baby joins us :) So excited!!!!!!!

Update on Bed Transition

So, it's been a week and a half since moving Trenton to his big boy bed. I honestly don't know what I was so worried about. He took it like a champ. Only stayed up late the first night and has been acting like the new bed has been here all along.

I have to laugh at all the different positions I find him in though. Sideways, head hanging over...

Gotta love this one... Head on bed, feet on floor. This was how I found him when Brooklyn went to bed. He doesn't even wake up when we go in there to get her ready for bed. Yeay! What a good boy!

Brooklyn has been napping on the floor in my room when we haven't given Trenton enough time to fall asleep. Otherwise their 3 hour naps turn into playtime instead. I don't care where she sleeps as long as I get my break too :)

And of course, during the day, the bed is a toy to play with... Trenton loves to play "tackles". And he really does love his new bed. He doesn't argue anymore when it's time to get out of the bath because he knows he gets to go in his room to check out his bed. Bedtime is a breeze because he loves climbing into it.

I just had to include this one because it's actually pretty cute. This is the "time out" corner. Brooklyn knows the drill and Trenton has quickly picked it up as well. Trenton has even gotten to the point where I tell him "time out" and he goes over there himself, puts his nose against the wall and stands there quietly until I tell him he can come out. He then says "sorry" and "hug", gives me a hug and usually drops what he was doing that got him sent there in the first place. Got to start them early :)
