Trenton James has arrived!

Before:
This is what my 39 week belly looked like! Whoa! My guess was that we were going to have a big baby boy!

I went and got a pedicure with baby blue polish for the occasion :)

And Brooklyn got a new My Little Pony backpack to take her favorite toys over to her slumber party with Grandma and Grandpa while Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital. She thought she was hot stuff carrying it around.

August 23rd... at the hospital getting ready for baby. This is Kurt and I in the triage room before surgery. We were scheduled for 8:30 but got bumped for an emergency. Trenton was born at 10:16.

And here's Baby Trenton. 9 pounds 7 ounces, 21 inches long. I knew he was going to be big!

Finally getting to meet Mommy! I waited 9 months for this moment! And it was worth every minute.

Getting cleaned up in the nursery while Mommy was sent to the recovery room.

First time Mommy got to hold him. I was loving it :) He is just so precious!

Daddy and Trenton. Kurt looks a bit tired. I think we all had a very long day and of course didn't get much rest the night before because we were too excited to sleep!

My mom and Trenton.

Great Grandma with Trenton.

Kurt's mom and Trenton.

My parents brought Brooklyn to the hospital so she could meet her baby brother. I think she was more interested in playing around in my room instead.

But she did finally go check him out. She gave him a hug and here she is "petting" his arm.

She thought she'd check him out again when Auntie Heidi was holding him.

We tried to get some pictures of me with both kids, but Brooklyn didn't want to smile for the camera. She had too much other stuff going on. Here she was trying to feed him goldfish crackers. What a good big sister.

Then she was off playing Ring Around the Rosies with the curtain in my room. Silly girl has her priorities.

Trenton's going home outfit! My handsome little man.

All buckled up in his new carseat. Take me out of this place he says. I'm ready to see my new home!

Leaving the hospital. I actually had a very good experience this time, but was happy to be going home on time. Once home, I could actually get some rest :)

Trenton's first ride in the truck.

The pretty flowers Kurt's mom brought to the hospital for me.

At home. Brooklyn was checking out her new baby brother. She has some adjusting to do, but I think she'll get used to him sooner or later. It's not like she really has a choice... he's not going anywhere.

He had a bit of jaundice so was catching some rays outside.

We are all doing great and just love this new addition to our family. We just don't get as much sleep as we used to :) But it's worth it!

Poor Bailee

All Bailee wants to do is get a little rest around here before Baby Trenton comes home... but Brooklyn just can't leave her alone. I guess she could rest more comfortably if she has pillows, right?

Bonkers, Brooklyn fell off the bed backwards. And yes, that's exactly what she said... "Bonkers"

Nice Bailee!

I think Bailee is in for a lot more "fun" once Trenton is big enough to play with her too. Good thing she's such a good sport!

Brooklyn's Furniture

Brooklyn got her own big girl furniture last month since she had to give up her baby furniture for Trenton. Here's her new room all put together!

There are actually 4 drawers that go under the bed, but that made it too tall for her to get in and out herself so Kurt put the frame together upside down for now and will flip it back when she's bigger and then she'll have the drawers. She got a big matching toy box at the foot of the bed too!

Her new dresser. The top part is half mirror and half cork board. I'm sure she'll find lots of things to hang on that when she gets older.

We also got a 5 drawer chest and put it in her closet. We don't have a lot of storage in our house, so this will come in handy.

And this was Trenton's new purchase for the week. A double stroller and new carseat!

Brooklyn has already tested out her seat and approves. She stayed in here for almost an hour watching cartoons. Silly goose. She loves it!

Giddi Up Bailee

I was doing something in the kitchen the other day and heard Brooklyn say "giddi up" so I looked to see what she was doing.... she was riding Bailee! And actually stayed on long enough for me to grab my camera.

Doesn't Bailee look thrilled?

Then Brooklyn says "hug" and leans over to give Bailee a big hug. I'm surprised Bailee didn't buck her off! I guess she's realized by now that if she hurts the baby she'll get in trouble.

This was a few minutes later and she's still riding Bailee. Only this time she was bouncing on her.

Oh, cartoons are on. I have the best "seat" in the house! Poor Bailee. I'm so glad she's such a good sport though!

I had to throw these in. We were at Kurt's mom's house over the weekend and kept Brooklyn up way past bedtime. I looked back to see what she was up to on the ride home and she was hugging her blankie.

She was so tired, but doesn't ever want to give up and sleep in the car. She just might miss something! Such a cutie pie!

This little girl is so much fun to have around. She's always making me smile :)

Play Date with Friends

We went to Vern and Nancy's house last week and Nancy's daughter brought her son Nikos over to play with Brooklyn. They're about 2 weeks apart in age. (Nancy has a lot of toys at her house. It looks like a daycare, but the kiddos sure love it).

They were cooking us something for lunch.

And playing tools, taking turns wearing the silly hat.

Brooklyn ended our playdate by vacuuming the floor for Nancy.

Then we headed over to my friend's house and had a playdate with Finley. She's about 3 weeks older than Brooklyn. She had fun toys at her house too!

Peek a boo, I see you!

Brooklyn loved this cool duck, especially when she was playing the piano.

The girls found something fun to get into... a big empty cabinet!

Close me in.

I think I'll just take a rest right here!

Needless to say, Brooklyn was exhausted after this day was over. We were away from home running errands and playing with kids for over 12 hours!
