Happy 2nd Birthday Brooklyn!

Bippity Boppity Boo... Princess Brooklyn turned two!

And what better way to celebrate than by having a princess party! I was a bad mommy and didn't take a single picture at her party, so Uncle Don shared his with me. He's so good at capturing the moment for everyone!

Here is Brooklyn in the backyard playing. She got a new princess shirt to wear for the party :)

Wee. The kids liked playing outside. It ended up being a rainy day though, so they all got soaked. They didn't seem to mind.

Playing football with the boys. Poor Brooklyn, none of the little girls could come, so she just had a bunch of boys to play with. Only other girls there were her cousin and my cousin's daughter who are both almost 10.

Present time. Here she's checking out the Tinkerbell blu ray movie that mommy and daddy got for her... along with A Christmas Carol and Beauty and the Beast on blu ray... and of course a few new outfits and Tinkerbell jammies.

Grandma and Grandpa Cook got her a princess sleeping bag and her very own luggage on wheels. She's all set for trips to Colorado now!

She pulled this suitcase around all night!

Kurt's mom gave her an easel set that has a chalkboard on one side and paper on the other, and a whole bunch of art supplies to go with it.

She got a whole bunch of other fun stuff, but I won't bore you with the details. We had about 40 people in our house for the party. Makes me realize we need a bigger house! :) It was so much fun though.

Here is her princess cake.

She got so shy when everyone was singing to her. She usually likes being in the spotlight. I love this picture. She didn't want to look at anyone and was just tapping her fingers on the tray.

Blowing out the candles.

And of course, eating cake. It wasn't nearly as messy as last year :) Yeay!

Tanner eating cake. That's a big bite!

Brooklyn with a big bite too.

Brooklyn showing off in her room. What a cute kid!

She was pretending to sleep with her new sleeping bag and new pillow pet ladybug pillow.

All snuggled up

Playing with her balloons the next morning.

She had such a good time. There were lots of people, lots of yummy food, yummy cake, and lots of presents... All in all, I'd say her party was a hit :) Happy birthday to my sweet baby girl!

A Day of Play!

Our new favorite activity.... an afternoon at the park. The closest one to us is a playground in a nearby neighborhood. It's a mile away from our house.

Here's how we roll. This is by our house on our way to the playground. Bailee likes to join us and I like the way our stroller's handles are set up because the leash slips right over them and I don't have to worry about holding onto the dog.

Trenton takes advantage of our walks by taking a nap in the stroller.

At the playground.

Brooklyn's routine.... Up the stairs, over the bridge, turn the steering wheel, down the slide... then repeat all over again... and again... and again!

This picture is blurry, but I love it. Huge smile on her face, foot in the air... She's running FAST.

If this had sound effects, you'd be hearing "Weeeeeee"

So much fun.

Exploring under the picnic table... but little missy doesn't like getting her hands dirty so she's trying not to touch.

Come on Bailee... let's go.

After all is said and done, Mommy and Bailee get a two mile walk, Brooklyn gets totally worn out and ready for her nap, and Trenton just gets to chill out for a while.

Trenton has figured out how to hold onto his toys now and is having so much fun playing with them.

This has got to be one of his favorites right now. The big ball lights up and gets his attention.

He will hold onto it forever and just shake it like crazy. Here's a grin. Can you tell he's having fun?

Kurt thinks it's fun to put all sorts of different things in Trenton's grip and see what he does. The funniest was when he put lollipops in the baby's hands after Halloween. He just shook them and shook them.

Veteran's Day Parade

We got up early and went to the parade on Mill today. We thought it started at 9, but found out once we got there that it wasn't until 10 so had to figure out a way to keep an almost two year old occupied for an hour. Luckily there was a grassy area where we were sitting so Brooklyn could run around and get rid of some of that energy!

After what seemed like forever, the parade was finally off to a start.

Brooklyn had the best seat in the house.

Me and the kiddos. It was actually a very cool morning.

Brooklyn and daddy.

I thought these little old ladies with their mops were cute.

Grandpa and Grandma Bucy were in the parade! And it's hard to see, but their dog Jackson is with them in a little Harley jacket.

Brooklyn trying to see what's next.

The police officers on their motorcycles were really loud with their sirens!

I liked this clown. His sign said "Invisible Balloons for Sale $5" and he was just holding sticks.

Clown on his bike.

This clown was funny too. His cell phone rang while he was walking in front of us. He picked it up and was telling the other person "I can't talk right now, I'm in the middle of a parade". I don't know why, but that cracked me up!

Trenton had some milk and this is how he spent the rest of the parade... passed out!

Brooklyn thought the camels were cool.

Here's a cute little car.

Kurt liked the mini big rig.

There were a bunch of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts walking.

Police tank.

And of course, Brooklyn's favorite... HORSES. When they went by she told them "Nay".

After the parade was over, Brooklyn was walking Grandpa and Grandma's dog all by herself. She thought that was pretty neat. She tries to walk Bailee, but Bailee has about 70 pounds on her... Bailee always wins.

It was a nice day for a parade and a great event to get us out of the house!
