Pics from our Anniversary Trip

Our anniversary was the 17th. We spent our first few vacation days in Laguna Beach. We actually got the same exact hotel room we stayed in on our wedding night. It was so much fun.

We had a great time in Laguna. Ate alot of good food. Took lots of walks. Kurt got me these beautiful gerber daisies at one of the cute little flower stands on Coast Highway while we were taking one of our walks. They brightened up the hotel room for our trip!

This was the beach we were married on one year ago. We took a walk down by the ocean and hung out there on our anniversary. It was romantic.

Then we went to The Cottage for dinner. This is a cute little restaurant w/ a lot of Laguna charm. It's where we had our reception dinner after the wedding.

Instead of freezing the top layer of our wedding cake, the bakery provides you with a complimentary anniversary cake for your first year. It was so delicious! It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. We ate it for 5 days straight. And they did such a great job w/ the detail, especially for it being a free cake! Our real one had fresh flowers on top, but other than that, this was a perfect match!

After we left Laguna, we went down to San Diego for a few days. We were going to go to Sea World the first night we were there, but the pregnant lady took a 2 hour nap instead... so we ended up spending the first night down on Mission Beach. Had dinner on a rooftop restaurant overlooking the ocean, walked up and down the boardwalk... and found this cool wave place where they have a neverending wave that everyone was surfing, or wake boarding on. Kurt loved this thing. He said it's his goal to someday have one of these in our backyard when we get our dream house! We sat and watched the guys surf for quite a while. It really was neat!

Saturday we made it to Sea World. And of course that was the day it was cloudy and COLD all day. I didn't even take my sweater off the whole day. Guess I didn't have to worry about getting a sunburn and being uncomfortable the rest of the trip! Here's Shamu doing a flip!

And this is Shamu splashing the crowd. He could get it up to the 16th row. Everyone was getting soaked. We sat in row 16, but luckily didn't get wet. It was too cold to walk around wet!

Here's one of the dolphins. They were so beautiful.

And I have to admit... the sea lions were my FAVORITE. They were the funniest act of all. We actually watched them twice since they did a nighttime show as well. They were cracking me up. It's amazing how smart these animals are!

I just had to take a pic of this. When we got back to our hotel in San Diego, this was the license plate on the car in front of us. This is our wedding date. I guess it was an important date for someone else too!

We spent an afternoon at the USS Midway Museum, which is on a huge 968 foot Navy aircraft carrier. It was pretty interesting. We toured the whole place.

Kurt even got thrown in the brig :) He must have been a bad boy!

This is me on the runway where the planes would land. All in all, we had a wonderful trip! It was nice to get away for a few days. When it was all said and done, I was happy to be home in my own bed though.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!!!

I can't believe it's already been a year since we were married! Our first anniversary is on the 17th. It has been an amazing first year.

This was my favorite photo on the beach. There's nothing like walking hand in hand in the sand with the one you love!

My dress! The colors went perfect with the beach theme.

My handsome groom! I feel like the luckiest woman alive to have him by my side. He is the best husband I could ever ask for and I cherish every moment we have together.

One look says it all.... I just love this man with all my heart! And he is going to be such a wonderful father when our baby comes along.

Happy times!

We are leaving this week to go back to Laguna Beach to celebrate and get away from reality for a bit. Anniversaries are so much fun! This is just our first of many!

News Update!

So, most of you already know that Kurt and I have been trying to have a baby for a year now. Well a couple months ago, we found out that it wasn't going to happen on its own. My body was actually fighting against the thing I wanted most. I was so upset, but we decided to do whatever it takes to conceive, we just needed a little medical push. Luckily we live in a day where medicine has evolved and they can do wonders! I have a great doctor and he prescribed me what I call my "magic pills" aka fertility drugs, and believe it or not, they worked on my first time around! I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took a test at home and it said positive. I didn't believe it so got another one, and what do you know, it said positive too!

I showed it to Kurt and he said, "It's OK, we'll try again next month". I had tears of joy in my eyes and said "NO, look again, you're reading it wrong"

I went to the doctor early this week and it's confirmed. We're going to be having a baby before the year is over. We are both so excited to expand our family! I know it's still really early on, but I am so happy and wanted to shout it from the rooftops!

I've known my whole life I've wanted to be a mommy and I am so thankful the day is finally going to come! I couldn't be happier. :)
