Wheel of Fortune and other fun stuff this week

Wheel of Fortune came to Phoenix last week and I wanted to get on the show SO BAD. I love that show and am good at solving the puzzles. Kurt always tells me "we need to get you on that show"... and then we found out they were coming to Phoenix. I was so excited!!!

We drove down to Scottsdale and there were so many people there. Over a thousand I think. It was completely random to get called on stage for an audition. Everyone filled out an application and they drew 5 at a time out of a big drum. If your name was drawn, you went on stage and played a speed round with 4 other players. They had 3 separate games throughout the day and drew names at all of them. I kept holding my breath and hoping they'd call my name, but they never did, dang it. At one point they said "Shannon" and paused like they didn't know how to say Bucy or something, but they said a different last name. Dang it! I'm glad I tried though.

They said they were looking for enthusiastic, energetic people and with my sanguine personality type, I just knew I'd do good if I made it on stage. Oh well. We had fun trying.

This is Brooklyn trying out the swing at my parents house. She was having so much fun!

A little action shot. Look at that grin!

I visited my old office last week too. A friend of mine had twins a couple months ago and we went to meet the boys. Brooklyn was fascinated by them. Here she is reaching for Jaxon.

She kept holding Jaxon's hand. It was so cute. I didn't get any pictures of Braxton though. Next time!

Brooklyn was cracking me up. I was holding the babies and she didn't seem to mind me with another little one. She was trying to share her toys with them, but they're too young to care just yet. She wanted to play with them so bad.

Happy Anniversary

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary yesterday (the 17th). Wow, I cannot believe it's been 2 years already. Where does the time go? We are having so much fun and enjoying our life together. I could not ask for more!

I just love this man with all my heart and am so proud of what he does for our family. Because of him, I am able to be a stay at home mom and raise our family. Words cannot describe how much I appreciate him!

We had a nice anniversary. Kurt took the day off work and we started off by sleeping in. Even Brooklyn cooperated and slept in with us. Yeay! Kurt had our day planned and didn't let me know what was going on until we got to each place. I think he knows I hate surprises (well, I don't hate them, I just like to know what is going on).

We drove up to the top of South Mountain for the afternoon. It sure was neat to overlook the city. This picture doesn't even do it justice...

Kurt packed a cooler and a picnic lunch for us (Paradise Bakery, yumm) and we ate lunch in the back of our truck overlooking the city. We were on top of the world.

Brooklyn had her lunch in the back of the truck too and then we loaded her in the Baby Bjorn and took a walk. It was a beautiful day and we had such a good time.

Then we went home, changed, dropped Brooklyn off with my mom, and Kurt had surprise dinner reservations. I figured out where we were going just before we got there. He took me to the Salt Cellar for a fancy seafood meal. If you've never heard of it, it's fantastic. The whole restaraunt is underground. This was where he took me for dinner the night he proposed 2 1/2 years ago. It was so romantic!

We had a very nice anniversary. I'm looking forward for many many more in the years to come.

Happy Easter!

Kurt's mom has this big bunny named Harvey at her house. We were there the week before Easter and took these pictures. Brooklyn was having fun!

She is such a happy little girl

Next year we'll take some more and see how much she's grown!

Friday night before Easter we colored eggs as a FAMILY!!! I am so excited to be able to do things as a family now :)

Brooklyn thought it was pretty neat.

Daddy was having fun too!

Me and Brooklyn

The end result:

The Easter Bunny found our house this year too. Brooklyn got a basket with 2 books and a music cd with her favorite song (Wheels on the Bus). And somehow the Easter Bunny knew that she gets to start on solid food at the end of this month and he left her bowls, spoons and baby food :)

Mommy and Brooklyn Easter morning. She had such a cute Easter dress. But by the end of the day the pretty ribbon ripped off the bottom of the dress.

We went to my Grandma's house for lunch and hid a ton of plastic eggs all around the yard so the kids could have an egg hunt. Not all kids had a basket with them so my grandma rounded up all she had at her house and used Halloween buckets and Christmas tins since she didn't have enough baskets. I was cracking up. The kids didn't seem to care though. They just wanted to find the eggs and get the candy (and some had money in them too)

Brooklyn wanted to eat the eggs:

Here she's getting one off the bush. Don't mind Kurt's finger at the top of the picture. I guess he didn't realize his finger was in front of the lens because it's in all the pictures he took. What a dork! :)

And here is my nephew showing off his cool new sunglasses:

Hope everyone had a very Happy Easter!

Say Cheese

So, Brooklyn got a hold of the camera and started taking her own pictures...

You know, the ones where you hold the camera out with one arm and take pictures of yourself...

She thought she was hot stuff...

OK, not really... Mommy was the one taking the pictures, Brooklyn was just trying to steal the camera from me.

I was trying to catch her in the act. She just figured out how to blow raspberries and has been doing it ever since. It's so cute.

Just some silly pics...

This weekend I babysat my nephew for a couple days. Brooklyn had fun hanging out with him. She got all dolled up first...

And Tanner was even trying to be nice to her this time. Here he was giving her a hug. Then he tried to pick her up and carry her like a doll. I was right there to catch her before she fell off the couch.

And when she was sad and crying, he bent down to give her a hug. So sweet. Usually he just pushes her or tries to hit her.

I think she might be starting the teething process. Everything goes straight to the mouth. She was totally munching on this...

And she's fascinated with her feet these days. Constantly grabbing them and trying to eat them.

This is dolly. Brooklyn just loves to cuddle her.
