Silly Sleepers

This post is primarily for me so I can remember one of my most favorite things... sleeping babies. I have been peeking in on them lately during naptime and before bed and just keep finding the cutest little positions. They are so sweet, innocent and peaceful.

Just look at this face!

And the funny part is, he's laying the wrong way in the crib and doesn't fit so his feet are propped up on the bumper.

During naptime, Brooklyn had pulled ALL her toys out of the toy box and covered them with her "big blanket". I guess that made a good spot to fall asleep!

This picture is rare because she's in her bed. She's gone the past month and a half sleeping only on her floor. I'm not sure why, but that's what she wanted to do so I let her. It made me laugh because she's in the baby "touchdown" sleeping pose with her arms over her head.

More napping in a pile of toys. At least this time she's resting her head on a pillow pet.

He must like propping those legs up!

Where's Waldo? I mean, Brooklyn? Oh, in another pile of toys. Silly girl!

Most favorite sleeping position... on his tummy... just like mommy!

Kurt said he doesn't know why we bought her such a nice bed... it's only wasted space in there! She prefers the hard floor.

Hang on for dear life!

I love my sleeping babes!

Happy Easter - 2011

Happy Easter! Hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

First, we decorated eggs. I tried something new this year. It was a gel you put on the egg and swirl it in a plastic bag. Brooklyn had fun helping!

Trenton thought he'd help too. He mostly just wanted to eat it though.

The finished product. They turned out so pretty.

Easter Bunny found his way to our house. He left baskets full of treats! (but wouldn't you know, our Easter Bunny doesn't bring candy... I don't think the kids even noticed!)

Collecting eggs Easter morning.

She was so excited that Easter Bunny brought her new clothes.

Trenton checking out his stuff.

He liked the eggs the best.

We went to Kurt's mom's house first. She fed us delicious breakfast and had a fun egg hunt planned (for the adults too). She hid almost 200 eggs. There were some empty eggs that had numbers in them. Once we found all the eggs, we got the prize associated with the number. Only some of them weren't prizes at all... they were exercises that we had to do in order to make up for the calories in the other prizes. I took pictures of everyone doing the exercises, but I guess I'll be nice and not post them. It sure was fun though!

Here's Trenton and Daddy hanging out.

Brooklyn actually sharing toys with her brother.

Trenton was busy crawling around everywhere... mainly trying to get his fingers in the electrical outlets. It didn't matter how many times we moved him, he always made his way back... one track mind I guess.

Then we headed over to my Grandma's to celebrate with my side of the family. Trenton couldn't understand why he didn't have his own spot at the table. He was trying to get up and steal the big kids' food.

Auntie Heidi brought a bunch of treat-filled eggs. Here's Great Grandma trying to hold all the kids back until the adults were done hiding eggs.

Brooklyn had so much fun this year finding eggs on her own. If you look closely at her basket she even found a grapefruit and gathered that as well.

Yeay, Trenton and Grandma found one too!

Some of the kids hunting...

Grandpa Cook always throws in a few "money eggs" too! Woo hoo, she's rich!

I went looking for Kurt to see if he wanted dessert when my Grandma was serving it up... Here's what I found. Daddy was sleeping on the couch and Trenton was just hanging out playing with his hand. Who's watching who here?

We tried to get a family picture. Kids were having no part of it. Brooklyn was more interested in her basket and Trenton was trying to figure out how he could steal the eggs from sister.

A little better... Oh well.

Holidays are always so busy and get the kids off their schedules... but in the end, we make our rounds and then get back on track the next day. Whew, I think we were all beat after this fun-filled day!

Happy Easter everyone!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

I know... a little sappy, but I couldn't help myself. Happy Anniversary Honey... Let's take a look back at April 17, 2007!

He looked at her...

She looked at him...

And that day, two became one!

We had a beautiful beach, beautiful weather, a beautiful ceremony... it was perfect!

We even had our first dance on the beach.

Here's to many many more happy years to come!

Since we're taking this trip down memory lane, I had to include a couple Jamaica Honeymoon pictures! It was so pretty there!

Nothing like waking up to this view for 7 days! We had the perfect honeymoon suite!

I know our vacations have changed a bit lately since our family has expanded, but I know we'll get back here someday!!!

Happy Anniversary to the man I gave my heart to! :)

A Fun Afternoon at the Lake!

My dad and grandpa were at Roosevelt Lake with some friends from CO who were visiting. We decided it would be fun to jump in the truck and take the kids for the afternoon. Kurt was busy so my mom and grandma came along.

It was a beautiful day :)

I wasn't quite sure how Trenton would do since he doesn't like to be stuck in one place now that he's mobile, but he had a good time too. The bumbo chair made a perfect seat for him to eat his lunch.

Brooklyn was going to town on my mom's salmon dip.

Trenton kept trying to steal everyone's food off their plates. He even got a good grip on my mom's and almost flung it off the table.

I let him try some pineapple and he LOVED it. He kept taking his hand and trying to shove it further in his mouth!

Sitting with our friend John and blowing raspberries. These two are good buddies!

Brooklyn was SOOOO excited to see Stacy. She's been talking about her all week. We only get to see them a few times a year since they live in CO. The kids both love them to pieces!

Brooklyn kept telling Stacy "Come have fun with me." So that's exactly what Stacy did... She even sat in the dirt to play with her.

Brooklyn was loving every minute!

Trenton and Grandpa down by the boat. They kept calling Trenton "Gilligan" in his little hat. He looked so cute! Hey, it kept the sun off his face. I'm actually surprised he left it alone all afternoon.

I think Brooklyn just might have a little bit of her mommy in her afterall... she LOVED the water. She didn't care that it was cold. She had to play in it.

First the feet...

Then full on splashing... She was soaked! Good thing I had a change of clothes for the drive home.

She was having fun playing on my dad's boat. He showed her the minnow bucket and she kept trying to catch them. She told me the fishies were scared of her.

So Grandpa caught one for her instead. She thought it was so neat!

One of my dad's dogs was fetching sticks from the lake. It didn't matter how far he threw it, she came back with it every time.

Trenton missed his 2nd nap of the day since there was so much going on... He fell asleep on me when I fed him before it was time to go, but that didn't last long. He woke up when I moved him to the carseat. I thought for sure he'd sleep the whole way home... but nope, too excited. I guess it's ok to skip a nap every now and then. They sure had fun!

We were all exhausted last night so I hadn't completely unloaded everything yet. Brooklyn woke up this morning and told me she needed sun cream (since that's what I told her she had to wear out in the sun)... so she put some on herself. Sorry dear, we're not going back today.

It sure is nice to be able to do these fun day trips. We have to soak up this beautiful weather before it gets too hot!
