An Artist, A Sleepyhead, A Big Boy and Birthday Cupcakes...

Picasso, move over... we have an up and coming artist in the house!

OK, maybe she still needs some practice, but she sure is having fun drawing on her easel.

Don't tell Grandpa.... Trenton got caught playing with a doll. And from the looks of it, he liked it :)

A new and improved way to sit on a princess chair.

I think he's starting to outgrow the bouncy chair.

It's ok, sister will help you bounce. (while singing rock a bye of course)

He was soooo tired the other night and fell asleep before I changed him. I figured he couldn't go to bed with a soggy diaper since it would be about 10 hours before he got a dry one, so like it or not, he needed a change.

This sleepyhead didn't even flinch when I undressed him.

I changed the diaper and put his clothes back on and he was still out. Hooray! Straight to bed you go!

My baby just turned 6 months old. Where or where did the time go? Didn't I just have him? He weighs in at 20 pounds 12 ounces and 28.5 inches long. He's 3 pounds heavier than Brooklyn and I were at that age and 2 pounds heavier than Kurt. I think he's going to be a big boy!

He got 4 shots and fell right to sleep afterward. He stayed in the carseat just like this for the next 2 hours. Poor guy. He had a hard time with this round and ran a fever that night and was a cranky pants the whole next day.

Now that he's 6 months, we moved from just rice cereal to flavored foods. Does he like it? Hmmm....

Yep, sure does. So far he's only had squash, but we have several fruits and veggies on the menu in the near future. I'm excited to give him new flavors to see what his favorite is... but of course we're waiting a few days in between each to make sure he's not allergic. You never know!

I think I'll just help myself to some more!

Getting ready to go to Grandma's for her birthday. Trenton was ready for a nap so we just loaded him in the carseat instead of laying him down. Brooklyn helped "rock a bye" him. She is such a good helper these days.

I LOVE her face on this one. She was watching me frost the cupcakes and kept saying. "Mmmm, cake. My favorite." I told her we had to wait until we got to Grandma's and sang Happy Birthday to her. As soon as we walked in the door, she climbs up on the chair and says "Let's have cake". She sure was eyeing them!

But darnit, we made her eat lunch first. FINALLY... a taste of cupcake.

Mmmmmm, delicious!

And yes, my two year old still fits in the bumbo chair. She is always stealing it from her brother. I guess it makes for a good spot to watch cartoons in the morning.

These kiddos sure keep me busy every day, but oh what fun times we have! I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Happy Valentine's

Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day! Here is Trenton showing off his Valentine's shirt. And I have to admit, it speaks the truth. The ladies sure do love this little guy! (mommy included)

Making funny faces for the camera. He loves his tongue. He's always sticking it out!

Brooklyn dancing around in her dress. She kept bouncing around all day saying "I have to shake my dress" and would do a little dance so her skirt would move. She's so cute!

We made Valentine's cookies to take to the Grandparents. They turned out really cute, but dang it, I forgot to take a picture. We also spent some time at the Dr office with Trenton. Poor thing has an ear infection. That's no fun. Then we had dinner with Kurt's family.

Here is how I take care of my sick baby.... lots of love and snuggle time! I think he's finally starting to feel better after a few days on antibiotics. Poor little guy.

And then little miss Brooklyn decided she needed to be sick too and was running a fever. So they took turns snuggled in my lap to rest. Luckily hers only lasted one night and she was fine the next day.

I sure don't like having sick kiddos.

Winter in Colorado - Trenton's First Vacation

It has been a while since we've had a vacation so we were all looking forward to going to CO. There wasn't as much snow this year as in the past, but this was definitely the COLDEST trip ever!

We all got bundled up and took the Ranger to the neighbor's house to visit. It was a freezing ride over there. The wind hurt when it hit our faces. I don't know what we were thinking taking the Ranger.

Trenton was all bundled up, but it was way too cold out there for him. Instead of taking the Ranger back, Kurt went and got the truck and came back for us. Here's my blued eye boy during his first visit to the snow!

This is what the truck said the temperature was... 9. But when we got home, we found out the wind chill factor made it feel like -20. Brrrr.

After such a cold afternoon, Trenton was ready for a nice warm snooze! After that, he spent most the rest of the trip indoors. It was too cold for him!

We packed the jumper to give him something to do. He had much more fun in the warm house.

Kurt all bundled up. He is such a big kid when it comes to the snow. He was looking for any excuse to get out in it, even if it were to just shovel the walkways.

My dad all bundled up. Brooklyn kept calling him "monster".

Petting the horses at the neighbors'. Brooklyn LOVES the horses. She couldn't get enough! She really loved feeding them hay too.

She didn't care for being in the snow. She spent most of the trip crying when we would put her down. She did warm up at the end and then we couldn't keep her out of it. This cracked me up though.

Yep, that says the outside temp is 2 degrees. This was before I went to bed. My mom checked it in the middle of the night and it dropped to negative 3. Brrrr.

Brooklyn striking a pose, having a snack by the fireplace.

Trenton giving me silly grins in bed one morning. I just love this kid.

My sister in law came out the first night they were there dressed in her footie jammies with the kids. My mom had given them to her as a joke for her bachelorette party. I guess they came in handy afterall :)

These two cracked me up all week. Here they are giving me silly faces while sharing a banana. Too cute!

Auntie Heidi was getting a workout while doing situps in the snow with Brooklyn on her stomach! Way to go Heidi!

Brooklyn all bundled up.

Me and Brooklyn.

Sage and Tanner getting ready to play in the snow.

A big dog pile in the snow... Heidi was at the very bottom.

My brother and Trenton showing off their matching beanies.

Me and Sage.

Kurt and I in the snow! I felt like a big black stay puff marshmallow man in all those clothes!

We made a couple of snowmen. Not as big as last years, but we did what we could with what we had to work with. I didn't realize making a snowman was such a workout. I was sore when we were done~

They turned out cute.

Hey, this snowman wants to sled with everyone else.

Rub a dub dub, three kids in a tub! This was their favorite way to end the day.

Having some tummy time while everyone else was outside playing. Just noticed I caught Bailee in the background too :)

Are you ready for some football? I sure am. Trenton all decked out in his football outfit to celebrate the Super Bowl.

Brooklyn jumping on Sage's bed. This girl loves to jump! Oh, and she decorated herself with stickers to celebrate the Super Bowl. I guess she likes those better than sports~

Trenton trying to get to his friends Giraffe and Turtle.

OK, so I mentioned Brooklyn wasn't liking the snow. So when we went on another trip to the neighbors' to see the horses, I left my camera at home..... BIG MISTAKE. While we were out there, Brooklyn warmed up to the idea of the snow and was walking all around making snow angels, riding on the quad with us over the frozen pond, she was pretending to ice skate on the pond, and me and Heidi actually did ice skate. The neighbors brought out skates for us to use. I haven't ice skated in forever. This was way different too because it was so bumpy. It was so much fun though!!!!! I wish I would have had my camera. You'll just have to pretend this cartoon is me! Ha ha. I definitely worked off my meals that day. It's amazing how much you sweat when it's so cold outside~

So, now we can't keep Brooklyn out of the snow. She was ready to play all day. Here she is by the snowman. Only now he lost his face because the sun was out the day before and melted part of him. Oops.

Sage and Brooklyn.

Bailee playing in the snow.

Sage sledding.

Brooklyn checking out the property.

My brother and his beautiful family.

Brooklyn having fun with a BIG snowball. She wanted to throw it at Grandpa.

Trenton standing in the windowsill wishing he could come out and play too. Next year buddy!

Me and Brooklyn sledding.

Once you get to the bottom, you have to walk back up.

My brother and Heidi going down together.

Trenton eating his popcorn (that's what Brooklyn kept calling the fake corn on the cob). I think this kid might be working on bringing some teeth down. He was constantly chewing on whatever he can get his hands on and drooling like crazy. He's been a bit cranky too and that's out of character for him. That's why I think it's the teeth.

Right before we had to leave (the same day my brother left) it dumped a bunch of snow in the middle of the night. It sure was pretty~

Covered up all the tracks we had made over the week.

And covered our vehicles.

I just had to include this one. Brooklyn looked so cute when she was sleeping.

This girl has some major bed head every day!

Trenton has really gotten the hang of eating his rice cereal. He keeps stealing the spoon from me and wanting to do it himself. I'm surprised he actually likes it. Maybe in a couple weeks we'll start something with flavors!

Only bad part about letting him do it himself is that it makes a big mess. Oh well, he sure is cute!

The drive to CO is 7 hours. I am so proud of both the kids. Brooklyn has always been a good traveler and we were wondering how Trenton would do his first time. He had about 15 minutes of fussiness on the way there and about 20 minutes on the way home. Not too shabby! I can handle that!

Here is how he rides~

And this is Brooklyn. This was her first trip with a window seat. She used to be in the middle. She enjoyed it I think. Until we were about an hour from home and she decided to get car sick. Puked all over. Yucko. Only happened once and then she was asking for a granola bar. I guess she felt better.

Trenton did a lot of napping while we drove. Yeay!

We had such a good time. It is nice being home though. I was ready for my own bed, and having the kids in their own rooms instead of sharing with me.

I sure am glad we have such a great vacation spot with my parents. We always have fun and enjoy everyone's company.
