Who's Who?

After taking those pictures of Trenton in his bath the other day, I got to thinking it looked very familiar. I pulled out the pictures of Brooklyn in the same bathtub. They don't look like twins or anything, but you can definitely tell they're related!

Brooklyn at 3 weeks old.

Trenton at 3 weeks old.

Do you see the resemblence?

No More Sponge Baths!!!

Now that Trenton's umbilical cord fell off last week, he can have real baths instead of sponge baths. He actually likes these! Much warmer.

No more screaming when it's time to get clean. This actually relaxed him!

Happy little boy.

All bundled up to dry off. Little stinker decided to pee when I was drying him off though, so he had to go straight back in the bath. Good thing he likes it!

On his play mat checking himself out in the mirror. He's been pretty alert these past few days. Finally. I thought all he ever did was sleep!

My little burrito baby!

I just love this little man! Being a mommy is the BEST job around!

Cousins

Tanner has been so anxious to meet his new cousin Trenton. While I was pregnant he kept telling me he can't wait to hold Baby Trenton and would cradle his arms to show me how he would do it.

Kids weren't allowed at the hospital and when we got home, Kurt and I got sick, so Tanner and Sage had to wait until now to meet their new cousin.

Tanner was a happy little guy!

He just loves his new cousin and couldn't get enough. He kept hugging and kissing him.

Of course Sage was loving on him too. She makes a good big cousin!

Auntie Heidi, Sage and Trenton...

Kurt and my brother put together Brooklyn's new play house. It belonged to our neighbors who moved out of state and didn't want to take it with them... So now it belongs to Brooklyn.

Tanner was having a good time checking it out too.

I have a feeling this will get a lot of use in our backyard.

Uncle Andy was introducing Trenton to his first football game. He was pretty alert too. Is this boy going to be a sports fan?

Tanner didn't want to go home when it was time to leave. Don't worry, he'll get lots more play time with his cousins throughout the years. And I'm sure Trenton will be big enough to actually play with him before too long! They grow up so fast!!!

Just Another Day in Paradise

Trenton having fun hanging out in his swing.

Must be nice to be able to relax all day.

And then he's out... doing what he does best... SLEEP.

Brooklyn playing with his mat. At least he wasn't in it this time. She likes to play with him. She looks at him laying on the floor and says "Goin in" and climbs on the mat with him. I didn't have the camera handy for that one though.

Brooklyn swept the floor for me tonight.

She kept saying "Mess, clean up" and ran the broom all over the floor.

What a good helper. Didn't quite get everything in a pile for me, but hey, it's a start. She's going to be doing chores in no time! Hee hee.

Trenton's First Bath

Here's the before picture. He was all nice and cozy sleeping in his swing when mommy decided it was time for a bath and pulled him out.

Still wanted to sleep, until the washcloth came out.

He didn't like that part. Here's his mad face.

He sure did like getting his hair washed under the faucet though.

And afterward... all snug back in the swing... smelling so much better this time :)

We got out his play mat for some play time.

He's been sleeping all day long, so we thought this would give him something to look at for a while. He likes it!

And of course it wouldn't be my blog without pictures of Brooklyn. This was a day that we all stayed in our jammies. She's started dumping out all her toys from her toy basket and using it as a seat.

She was introduced to Dora this weekend and absolutely LOVES it. She asks for "more Dora please" all day long now. Here she is getting in a snack while glued to Dora.

I think she's starting to like baby brother a bit more too :)

Trenton James has arrived!

Before:
This is what my 39 week belly looked like! Whoa! My guess was that we were going to have a big baby boy!

I went and got a pedicure with baby blue polish for the occasion :)

And Brooklyn got a new My Little Pony backpack to take her favorite toys over to her slumber party with Grandma and Grandpa while Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital. She thought she was hot stuff carrying it around.

August 23rd... at the hospital getting ready for baby. This is Kurt and I in the triage room before surgery. We were scheduled for 8:30 but got bumped for an emergency. Trenton was born at 10:16.

And here's Baby Trenton. 9 pounds 7 ounces, 21 inches long. I knew he was going to be big!

Finally getting to meet Mommy! I waited 9 months for this moment! And it was worth every minute.

Getting cleaned up in the nursery while Mommy was sent to the recovery room.

First time Mommy got to hold him. I was loving it :) He is just so precious!

Daddy and Trenton. Kurt looks a bit tired. I think we all had a very long day and of course didn't get much rest the night before because we were too excited to sleep!

My mom and Trenton.

Great Grandma with Trenton.

Kurt's mom and Trenton.

My parents brought Brooklyn to the hospital so she could meet her baby brother. I think she was more interested in playing around in my room instead.

But she did finally go check him out. She gave him a hug and here she is "petting" his arm.

She thought she'd check him out again when Auntie Heidi was holding him.

We tried to get some pictures of me with both kids, but Brooklyn didn't want to smile for the camera. She had too much other stuff going on. Here she was trying to feed him goldfish crackers. What a good big sister.

Then she was off playing Ring Around the Rosies with the curtain in my room. Silly girl has her priorities.

Trenton's going home outfit! My handsome little man.

All buckled up in his new carseat. Take me out of this place he says. I'm ready to see my new home!

Leaving the hospital. I actually had a very good experience this time, but was happy to be going home on time. Once home, I could actually get some rest :)

Trenton's first ride in the truck.

The pretty flowers Kurt's mom brought to the hospital for me.

At home. Brooklyn was checking out her new baby brother. She has some adjusting to do, but I think she'll get used to him sooner or later. It's not like she really has a choice... he's not going anywhere.

He had a bit of jaundice so was catching some rays outside.

We are all doing great and just love this new addition to our family. We just don't get as much sleep as we used to :) But it's worth it!
